Matthew L. Riemer and Leighton Brown’s LGBT History Project: Uncovering Untold Queer History

‘LGBT History’ is a project dedicated to uncovering the stories of LGBTQIA+ people.

Founders and curators Matthew L. Riemer and Leighton Brown unearth precious moments from queer history through meticulous research. Their work is very important, particularly regarding transgender people, bisexual people, people of color and people with disabilities’ impact on the community’s history. Indeed, their contributions are often overlooked as we invisibilize them.

The couple has recently published a book, ‘We Are Everywhere: Protest, Power, and Pride in the History of Queer Liberation’. The book is the sum of their research, linking past and present. Flip through the pages to discover old photos and overlooked queer (his)tories!
