Billy Slicks is Saying Trans Rights With His Ink

Ever heard of the name Billy Slicks? If not, you may want to write it down for future (or urgent) tattoo ideas.

Billy Slicks, born and raised in London, is a trans tattoo artist of talent. He started tattooing in his bedroom in 2012, using his creativity to adorn his body and feel a little more at home in it. He practices a naive and ignorant style, full of doodles, fun messages, little poems and cartoons. All of it is, of course, heavily influenced by his queerness. Queer cowboy tattoo, anyone?

One important aspect of Billy’s work is also to create a safe space for you to get tattooed in. Every step is carefully explained before proceeding, so you know what will happen and how it will happen.

Oh, and have we mentioned TITS444TATS? It is Billy’s latest - and amazing - project. It emerged in 2020 during the pandemic, as a way to raise money to help trans people get gender affirmative surgeries through tattoos. The idea is to organize ‘Surgery Smash Fundraiser Flash Days’, where all proceeds are donated directly to gender and body affirming surgery fundraisers. And the next one is on the 14th of November, if you are interested!

Through this project, Billy has been able to help numerous trans people, including himself, as well as to help raise awareness on trans rights. If his work sounds like something you could be interested in, you can have a look at some of his tattoos just down below!

You can also check his website for more information on booking and prices. Plus, on his Instagram you will find a list of trans tattoo artists in the UK, providing you with their names, pronouns, styles and region. How cool is that?
