Discover Kosovar-Icelandic Feminist Painter Fitore Alísdóttir Berisha

Fitore Alísdóttir Berisha is a Kosovar-Icelandic artist who is bringing a much-needed female perspective to the balkanic art world.

Her work is rooted in her activism and her anger towards patriarchy. The big eyes of her emblematic female figures radiate sadness, vulnerability, rage, questions and accusations. Fitore also believes in the healing power of art and uses it as therapy.

As she says: ‘The sweetest revolution comes from art, from that bitterness that gets built up inside you’.
