Colour Blocking Into Equality With the Thai-Australian Artist Kawita Vatanajyankur

Being a woman in the art world is hard enough, but managing to denounce patriarchal systems through vivid performance art is a whole new experience.

We often view laundry, cleaning or food shopping as menial tasks. Thanks to Kawita Vatanajyankur’s fascinating work these chores are now viewed as works of art that make you question women in the workforce from a new angle.

The mental and physical strength needed in this project can be felt even through a screen and inserting herself in these works brings a personal aspect as a female artist to an already multi-dimensional performance.

If you were as mesmerized as we were in her immersive art, wait until you check out her behind-the-scenes video here. Diving into such deep topics through these portrayals will resonate within you as soon as you pick up a mop to hearing about gender inequality!
