Mowalola is back and this time it's at Paris fashion week

Mowalola returns with a bang with a brand-new collection and leaves everyone and their grandma’s talking about it.
The young Nigerian designer, unafraid to push gender and silhouette boundaries, has, once more, been making waves in the fashion world. She recently came out with a brand-new spring-summer 23 ready to wear collection that premiered in Paris fashion week and has since been met with an overwhelming amount of support from all over the world.
Born and raised in Nigeria, Mowalola Ogunlesi and her family later moved to England. She then enrolled in Central Saint Martins for a Bachelor of Arts, where she made her first steps and began to make her mark. There, she quickly debuted at London fashion week and began to gain a lot of media attention because of her subversive and innovative designs.
Always ready to push the limits of gender and wardrobe. The designer, has really anchored her aesthetics and has won a loyal sequel over the years. And most recently has been appointed Design Director for the highly anticipated partnership between Yeezy and Gap. Although it is not surprising for most because of the freshness and sense of liberty she brings with her vision and designs.
She herself expressed her need and desire to diminish gender-specific perspectives on fashion and "sexiness". Inspired by thievery and its state of mind for this collection, her garments, and the way she decided to showcase them has truly been refreshing to see this season. Religious omens and nudity were at the rendezvous, as well as the use of a lot of symbolism and cultural references. Unsurprisingly, she naturally used her bold classic colours and PVC/leather materials, which her fans particularly cherish over the years.
After a three-year break, she succeeded in making an astonishing debut in Paris. Although she is still fighting for a space in the fashion industry, we see her getting there day by day and can’t wait to see what she comes up within her next projects.
